The second annual Taylor Fest takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Park.
The event will be a multi-cultural experience featuring musical acts from the West African, Mexican, Czech and Caribbean Island cultures. Main Street Special Events is directing the event.
“It was previously called Blackland Prairie Day, but it changed last year to a cultural celebration,” said Ruby Fisher, Main Street Special Events Coordinator.
The Czech Melody Masters will take the stage at 11 a.m. followed by Round Rock Ballet Folklorico at noon, and the Austin Dragon/Lion Dance Team at 12:45. The Aztec Dancers from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church will be the next act at 1 p.m., followed by Bramaya West African Dance & Drum at 2, and Steel Power Island Sound will cap things off with their act at 3 p.m.
Taylor Fest isn’t for music acts alone. There will be vendors, food trucks, a bubble machine, rock-climbing wall and a bounce house, among other activities.
The proceeds for Taylor Fest go to the Main Street District.
“We’re trying to make it bigger and better,” Fisher said.
