HUTTO – School officials at Hutto High School have identified an unnamed student who left a severed rabbit head in the boys’ restroom, along with a threatening message and drawing.
The animal remains, message and drawing, which was reported to be of a dead rabbit, were removed but not before some students had already seen them on Tuesday.
James Gazzale, director of communications for Hutto ISD, said, “District safety protocols were immediately activated, and the responsible individual was quickly identified through the coordinated efforts of campus administrators, district police and security staff.”
HHS principal Ryan Burns, in an updated letter to parents, said “appropriate disciplinary consequences” were coming for the student, with Gazzale confirming that the district would be pursuing criminal charges against the student.
