In the Taylor Press published May 14, there a notice by the Taylor ISD board of trustees regarding creation of a reinvestment zone. This appears to be the first step to give Samsung a reduction in taxes on land purchased after the November 2021 tax incentive agreement. According to news reports, the original 2021 agreement by the Taylor school board reduced the amount that Samsung will pay in taxes to Taylor ISD by around $300 million over 10 years. This is in addition to 85 to 90% reduction in taxes over 20 years by Williamson County and 85 to 92.5% reduction in taxes over 30 years by the city of Taylor. 05/20/2022 09:24 PM
