Carolyn was born on April 24, 1944, to Edward F. Schiller and Hilda Remmert Schiller. She worked for Thrall ISD and Taylor ISD until retirement.

Carolyn met the love of her life on her birthday in 1964 and married Wayne William Ging on Sept. 19, 1964, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. Wayne and Carolyn welcomed two sons into their lives, Brit Wade and Wayne William Ging, Jr.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne W. Ging, Sr., parents Edward and Hilda Schiller, parents-in-law Ewald and Gladys Ging, brothers-in-law Ewald (Butch) Ging, Jr., David Ging and Donald Dyer, sister-in-law Carol Dyer and nephew Alan Ging.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Brit Ging (Teresa) and Wayne Ging Jr., (Cara); grandchildren Garet Ging (Olivia), Chance Ging (Michaela), Courtney Buttles (Derek) and Dylan Ging (Stephanie); greatgrandchildren, Caroline, Allison and Evelyn Ging, Scarlett and Elijah Ging, Colt, Kennedy and Conway Buttles and Hudson and Dylan Ging, Jr; sisters-in-law Jo Ann Ging, Lena Ging and Linda Hickman; and brother-in-law Michael Ging; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn carried the values of faith, family and love throughout her life. She was known for her loving heart, gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to those she cared about. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thorndale, Texas. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery.
