Dorothy was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She married Anthony “Tony” Cantrell on November 12, 1971, and was the loving mom to Nikki and Mark. A devoted daughter to her mother, “Nana", they spent many years working together at Dorothy’s daycare, All My Friends, where she was known for providing an exceptional pre-k program, delicious homecooked meals, and teaching the love of God. Dorothy enjoyed countless hours of yard work, shopping, fishing, and bingo. She loved her family, and every person she met immediately became family to her.
