Ned proudly served his country in the US Navy as a photographer, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He served his country for 27 years in the US Navy and US Navy Reserves.

Although his career as a lumber salesman with Temple-Inland spanned more than 30 years, Ned always followed his passion for photography. Ned retired to the family farm in 2005 where he continued to photograph the local wildlife and carry on his interests with his grandchildren.

Ned will be remembered for his quick wit, genuine smile, and a camera around his neck. A private graveside service will be held at the Taylor City Cemetery on September 26, 2026, with a memorial service to follow at the SPJST Hall in Taylor at 12:00pm.
