Abbott announces TSIF Grant for new Taylor facility

Abbott announces TSIF Grant for new Taylor facility

AUSTIN – The city of Taylor will soon have a new manufacturing facility.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced Thursday that a Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund grant of $11,596,668 has been extended to South Korean manufacturer Soulbrain RASA TX LLC for a new U.S. manufacturing facility and U.S. headquarters in Taylor. The facility is expected to create 20 high-skilled jobs and represents more than $120 million in capital investment.

“Texas remains a national leader in semiconductor manufacturing as we further build a strong and resilient semiconductor supply chain,” said Abbott. "I congratulate Soulbrain for choosing Texas for their first U.S. production facility and their U.S. headquarters. The Taylor facility produces new high-skilled jobs and meets industry demand for specialized materials essential to the production of next-generation chips and electronic components produced in Texas. Through this grant, Texas will further solidify our dominance across the full semiconductor supply chain."

Phase 1 of the project will support an annual production capacity of 28,800 metric tons of high-selectivity and high-purity phosphoric acid (H₃PO₄), a critical material used in semiconductor wafer cleaning and etching processes.

The Taylor location will be the third Soulbrain location in the U.S. The company already has plants in Northville, Michigan and Kokomo, Indiana.

“We are grateful to Governor Abbott and the State of Texas for supporting Soulbrain through the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund,” said Soulbrain RASA TX LLC President Jon Park. “With this partnership, we will expand advanced materials capabilities in Texas, strengthen the domestic semiconductor ecosystem, and create high-value manufacturing and engineering opportunities for Texans.”
