Taylor High School was well represented on the Austin American-Statesman’s Top 50 Central Texas Athletes list, with senior tennis standout Rylee Michna and freshman golfer Rylen Darter both earning recognition for their accomplishments during the 2025-26 school year.
Michna was ranked No. 1 on the list after capping one of the most successful careers in school history.
She finished her four-year varsity career with just one loss while winning four consecutive UIL Class 4A state singles championships.
Michna graduated this spring and will attend the University of Texas at Austin, where she plans to major in environmental science.
Darter also earned a spot on the list following a standout freshman season. She captured the UIL Class 4A girls golf state championship before finishing fifth overall at the 2026 High School Golf National Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina, earning All-Tournament Team honors against a field of 228 of the nation’s top high school golfers.
While Michna’s historic career has come to an end, Darter will return to the Ducks next season with three years of eligibility remaining as one of the state’s top young golfers.
