Hutto High School senior Jaiden Fields has been named to the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Super Team as a preseason first-team defensive selection, earning recognition as one of the top defensive players in the state heading into the 2026 season.
Fields put together one of the most impressive all-around campaigns in Texas last season, making an impact on both sides of the football for the Hippos. Defensively, he finished with 48 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown while routinely making game-changing plays in the secondary.
His offensive production was just as impressive. Fields totaled more than 1,300 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns, emerging as one of the state’s most dangerous playmakers. He helped lead Hutto to a share of the district championship and a 10-3 overall record as the Hippos advanced to the second round of the Class 6A Division II playoffs.
Following his breakout junior season, Fields announced his commitment to the University of Oklahoma, where he is expected to play safety for the Sooners. While defense will be his primary position at the next level, his athleticism and versatility could also earn him opportunities on offense.
The Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Super Team recognizes the top high school football players across the state entering the season, and Fields’ selection to the preseason first team reflects the expectations surrounding one of Texas’ premier athletes.
Fields will enter his senior campaign looking to cap off an already decorated high school career while helping lead one of the most talented rosters in Central Texas. Hutto will also begin a new era under first-year head coach Casey Walraven, who takes over the program after leading Alvarado to sustained success. With Fields leading the way, the Hippos are expected to once again contend for a district title and make another deep playoff run in 2026.
