The Hutto Lady Hippos varsity volleyball team fell 3-0 to the Vista Ridge Rangers on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Vista Ridge High School.
Hutto struggled to find its rhythm early, falling 25-14 in the opening set. The Lady Hippos responded with a much closer performance in the second set, battling Vista Ridge before narrowly falling 26-24. Hutto was unable to force a fourth set after dropping the third 25-19.
Junior outside hitter Elania Dodds led the Lady Hippos offensively with eight kills, while Isabella Michael finished second on the team with six kills. Junior Teegan Combs led Hutto defensively with 11 digs.
The loss moved the Lady Hippos into their next district matchup looking to bounce back and continue building momentum during district play.
Hutto will return to action Tuesday, Sept. 15, when it hosts Cedar Park at 6:30 p.m. at Hutto High School.
