Gov. Abbott stumps in Hutto

HUTTO — Gov. Greg Abbott made a campaign stop here Sunday afternoon as part of his “Let’s Roll” Get-Out-The-Vote tour.

Abbott visited the Texan Café & Pie Shop, 207 East St., to greet constituents before visiting Hutto neighborhoods and encouraging residents to cast a ballot in the upcoming Nov. 3 election.

Early voting ends Oct. 30. Abbott, a Republican, is seeking his fourth term while facing Democratic challenger state Rep. Gina Hinojosa.

Polls show the pair in a neck-and-neck race.

The phrase “Let’s Roll” is Abbott’s tongue-in-cheek acknowledgement that he uses a wheelchair but is urging supporters to get moving to the polls, his campaign said.
