The Thrall Tigerette varsity volleyball team extended their win streak to five in a non-district meeting against Giddings on Monday, Oct. 26, taking down the hosting Buffaloes 3-1.
This is a complete flip from their previous meeting during the pre-season, where Giddings visited and took down Thrall 3-1.
Giddings opened the match strong, taking their only set of the night 25-20. In the second set, the Tigerettes defeated the Lady Buffaloes 25-20 and dominated the third set 25-10. The fourth match saw a final Thrall victory at 25-19.
The Tigerettes completed district play with a 10-4 record and the third spot in district, maintaining a 26-16 overall record as they enter playoffs.
Thrall played the Anderson-Shiro Fighting Lady Owls on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. in the bi-district championships at La Grange High School.
The Lady Owls finished with a 9-1 district record and hold a 19-11 overall record entering the meeting.
If the Tigerettes are successful against Anderson-Shiro, they will advance to play either the Mildred Lady Eagles or the Clifton Lady Cubs at Area on Nov. 2-3.
