Getting fit to the beat with Taylor Parks and Rec
Residents got moving to the beat last week at drum fit lessons. The first class had 19 participants. Drum fit is part of the free adult fitness classes, which conclude July 29. As a part of the introductory promotion, Taylor Parks and Recreation hosts free classes in the air-conditioned Memorial Field House at Parks and Recreation office, 1412 Davis Street. 07/22/2023 05:47 AM

CHORZÓW, POLAND – Taylor’s own Fred Kerley went up against some fierce competition on Sunday, July 16 as the star sprinter competed in the men’s 100-meter dash at the Silesia Diamond League. Against a very strong field, the reigning 100-meter world champion Kerley was defeated for the first time in 2023 in the event as Akani Simbine of South Africa edged him in a thrilling race with a photo finish to determine the winner. 07/18/2023 10:56 PM

Ducks football highlights important upcoming dates
July is already coming to an end as Taylor High School varsity football is less than two weeks away from putting on the pads and helmets again. Champion Taylor Pony League team honored
A promising group of 6-year-old Pony League champions from Taylor were honored in council chambers last week. At the Taylor City Council meeting on July 13, as the city designated July as Parks and Recreation Month, Parks and Recreation Director Tyler Bybee recognized the 6U Ducks All-Star team of the Taylor Area Baseball And Softball League, which recently was named 2023 Pony League Regional Champions and are headed to the league’s World Series July 23 in Youngsville, Louisiana. 07/15/2023 07:06 AM
