Deuser is with the Georgetown Rotary Club Racial Unity Committee, which works to develop and implement a model for Georgetown’s Rotary for ending individual and institutional discrimination. Crape myrtle trees, also spelled ‘crepe’ myrtle because the flowers resemble crepe paper, have been described as beautiful, long-blooming trees that sometimes suffer damage from an insect called bark scales.
