Connecting the county to a country
AUSTIN — During his visit to Washington, D.C., last week, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol may have sung “American Pie,” but Texas leaders including those in Taylor and Williamson County are humming a different tune about new business opportunities with the country. After recently visiting South Korea and returning home, Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell and others have inked a first-of-its-kind partnership agreement with a South Korean agency to lure more businesses from Asia to Texas, in part spurred by the construction of a Samsung Austin Semiconductor factory on Taylor’s border.

Michna serves up state
Rylee Michna has been a bright spot for the Taylor High School Tennis program all season long, and can now say she is a state champion. Michna dominated at the state tournament as a freshman defeating girls from Boerne, Lindale and Canyon Randall.

City weighs new cell tower
Better cellular coverage and capacity could be coming in the next few months to Taylor. At the regular meeting of the Taylor City Council April 27, a public hearing was held to read a new ordinance to allow a special use permit for a proposed 160-foot wireless telecommunication tower to be built on 1.13 acres of land behind New York Pizza and Pasta, at 1701 W.
