County inches closer to bond election

City touts credit boost
Taylor is moving on up the economic ladder. At the regular meeting July 27, city officials celebrated Standard & Poor Global’s recent credit rating upgrade from AA- to AA as they approved an ordinance for the city to issue combination tax and revenue Certificates of Obligation in the amount of $53 million over 30 years in order to build a new Municipal Complex.

Officials: Get ready for road work
A $4.1 million street maintenance project is set to begin later this month to three of Taylor’s most important thoroughfares, and city officials are telling the public to get ready. At the regular meeting July 27, officials briefed city leaders on a construction plan to complete street maintenance, including seal coating, sidewalk reconstruction, street reclamation, restriping and lane configuration changes to Mallard Lane from Carlos G.

Main Street Elementary design approved
Phase two of Taylor Independent School District’s 2022 Bond Program is underway for Main Street Elementary. The district’s board of trustees unanimously approved the additions design for the campus during the meeting July 24.
