BURNET – The Taylor Ducks varsity track and field team qualified six athletes for the area round after competing in the district meet at Burnet High School on Thursday, April 6.
Jeremiah Caldwell led the Ducks with a standout performance, winning the long jump while also placing fourth in the 100meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash to qualify in multiple events.
Angelee Philips added to the Ducks’ qualifiers with a fourth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Eric Walker, Jeremiah Caldwell, Cayden Hinesley, and Tristan Arroyo also advanced, taking third place with a time of 43.39 seconds.
The Ducks will compete in the area round on Wednesday, April 15 at Lorena High School.
