ROCKDALE – The Thrall Tigers and Tigerettes track and field teams delivered a strong showing at the district meet held at Rockdale High School on Thursday, April 9, earning multiple top finishes and sending 11 athletes on to the area round.
Bentley Marek led the Tigerettes with a firstplace finish in the varsity girls 800-meter run, while Braelyn Moehnke placed fourth to also advance.
Moehnke added another area qualification with a fourth-place finish in the 3200-meter run.
Carleigh Roznovak had a standout meet, winning the varsity girls 400-meter dash and placing third in the high jump, earning two area berths.
Isabella Molina secured third in the long jump, while Krista Poldrack finished third in the pole vault, with both also advancing.
On the boys side, Eric Smith placed second in the high jump, and Wyatt Schroeder earned third in the shot put, as both qualified for the area meet.
Thrall’s success continued in the relay events, as the varsity girls 4x400meter relay team of Brynn Leschber, Kinley Hoffman, Bentley Marek, and Carleigh Roznovak captured first place.
In total, the Tigers and Tigerettes advanced 11 qualifiers to the area round, which will be held on Thursday, April 16, at Rockdale High School.
