The Hutto boys and girls track and field teams turned in a strong performance at the district meet on April 9-10 at Vandegrift High School, with several athletes earning top finishes and contributing to solid relay results.
On the boys side, Wyatt Crawford led the way with a first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles and a second-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles. Shaun Grutner added another district title for Hutto, winning the high jump with a 6-600 which was a school record.
In the field events, Dylan Owens placed third in the long jump, while Jaylen Miles finished fourth in the triple jump.
Hutto also found success in the relay events, placing third in the 4x100-meter relay, second in the 4x200 relay and third in the 4x400 relay.
For the girls, Axelle Fenou Youbi earned a third-place finish in the 100-meter finals, while Arielle Youbi Tchinda took second in the long jump.
The Lady Hippos relay teams also competed well, finishing third in the 4x100 relay and fourth in the 4x200.
Hutto will now look ahead to the next round as it will compete on April 15 at East View HIgh School in Georgetown.
