FRANKLIN – The Thrall Tigers varsity tennis team turned in a strong performance at the district tournament held April 6-7 in Franklin, with multiple players earning top finishes and two advancing to the regional round.
In doubles competition, the team of Blake Widner and Connor Stiles placed fourth in boys doubles, while Lily O’Neill and Teegan Schnelting matched that result with a fourth-place finish in mixed doubles.
Thrall found its biggest success in singles play, where two athletes punched their tickets to the regional tournament. Senior Harleigh Barrett captured the district title in girls singles, finishing in first place, while freshman Easton Miner secured a runner-up finish in boys singles. Both players qualified for the regional tournament, set for April 20-21 in Bryan.
