Lions receive all-district honors after successful season

The Granger Lions varsity baseball team earned several alldistrict selections following a strong season on the diamond. The Lions finished third in district play with an 8-4 record and advanced to the area round of the playoffs before falling to Goldthwaite in a three-game series.

Leading the way for Granger were first-team selections Tre Castillo, Wyatt Johle, Seth Good and Ryder Bice. Castillo led the Lions in batting average with an impressive .514 mark, while Bice finished second on the team at .394. Nicholas Blane ranked third on the team with a .345 batting average and earned secondteam all-district honors.

Blane was joined on the second team by Dayton Knippa and Cohen Repa, while Adrian Lizardo and Nicholas Hamende received honorable mention recognition.

Granger also had several players earn academic all-district honors including Castillo, Johle, Lizardo, Hamende, Brodie Fudge, Knippa, Mason Vanek and Repa.

The Lions’ postseason appearance and multiple all-district selections highlighted a successful season for the Granger program.
