Chief fires off answers
The Taylor Fire Department responds to lot of emergencies, especially in dry summers such as thepresent, but its chief had a chance recently to sit down and respond to questions instead. Fire Chief Daniel Baum was the featured guest June 13 on the seventh episode of the Taylor Press video interview series with city of Taylor staff, “Taylor Talk with Jason Hennington,” on the Taylor Press Facebook page.

PRIDE fills downtown
Residents near and afar descended into downtown Taylor this past Saturday for Taylor’s relatively new summer outdoor festival. On June 25, the Taylor PRIDE Music & Arts Festival had its second inperson and third overall annual event on Second Street.

Council selects RAS to negotiate with city manager
Back on May 8, a request for quotation for professional services for the inventory and assessment of citymaintained streets was issued by the Hutto City Council. Responses were due on June 1 at 3 p.m.

Tax office closed through July 4
Residents in need of a tax office may need to drive a little further or go online this week. The Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector has closed the Taylor Tax Office location, 412 Vance Street, through Monday, July 4.

Hutto names city manager candidates
The next possible manager of Hutto’s municipal government has been narrowed down to four men, and residents can provide input on them. “We’re pleased to announce that the city of Hutto has narrowed the search for the next city manager to four highly qualified candidates,” said Allison Strupeck, Hutto public information officer.
