ASSISTANCE LEAGUE HELPS WITH CLOTHES
On Saturday, Feb. 26, the Assistance League of Georgetown funded a shopping trip for 100 Taylor students. Each student could select $100 worth of clothing from the Georgetown Walmart. TIGERS REIGN SUPERIOR AT UIL CONTEST
Beth Butler leads the Thrall High School Tiger Band at the University Interscholastic League concert and sightreading evaluation on Wednesday, March 2. The band, which includes assistant director Bana Estes, brought home the sweepstakes trophy and all superior ratings. Many of the musicians participated in other activities on the same day, such as reading to elementary kids for Read Across America, golf, regional powerlifting, tennis and track. TAYLOR MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND GETS SWEEPS
Taylor Middle School’s band, led by head band director Brianna Perry, traveled to Bastrop this past week for the University Interscholastic League concert and sightreading evaluation. Filling in Black History
The Taylor Press had an opportunity for anyone to color in images of figures in local or national black history during February. People could bring in their finished works into the Taylor Press office and have them displayed on the lobby wall. A new coloring opportunity can be found on page 8B.
