Taylor High School honored four senior athletes on May 8 during a National Signing Day ceremony, as each officially signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
Three of the signees came from the Ducks’ football program, including standout defensive lineman Kaddy Maravilla, who signed with Southwestern University in Georgetown.
Maravilla was a dominant force on the defensive line and a key leader for the Taylor defense.
He finished the season with 65 total tackles, including 17 tackles for loss. In addition to his success on the football field, Maravilla also competed for the Ducks’ baseball team.
Emmanuel Coleman, a defensive end, signed to play football at Judson University.
Coleman was a reliable contributor on defense, bringing physicality and energy to the front line throughout his time at Taylor.
Joel Lopez signed with Nelson University.
A versatile athlete, Lopez played on both sides of the ball for the Ducks, contributing at safety and wide receiver. In the secondary, he provided steady coverage and was known for his ability to make plays. On offense, he served as a dependable target in the passing game.
On the basketball side, senior T.J.

Whybrew was the Ducks’ leading scorer this season, averaging 17.0 points per game on 49% shooting from the field.
A consistent playmaker and vocal leader, Whybrew played a major role in guiding the team through the year.
