Police: Suspected stalker tracked, threatened victim

An accused stalker said by police to have placed a tracker on a woman’s car and threatened to “finish” her after she broke things off was arrested last weekend.

An arrest affidavit filed by Taylor police stated the woman ended her relationship with the man when she discovered he was married to someone else.

Officers arrested Francisco Garcia, 36, on three felony warrants May 25. Members of the Williamson County Jail staff said there is no record of Garcia being incarcerated there following his arrest.

Garcia is charged with stalking, fraudulent use of identifying information and invasive visual recording, according to investigators.

Stalking is a third-degree felony, while the other two charges are each state jail felonies.

The case began when a woman once intimately involved with a man became fearful of him and filed a police report July 8, 2024. After an investigation, an arrest affidavit was filed on Aug. 29.

The affidavit stated the woman called it quits in April 2024 after she discovered her paramour was wedded.

The woman told investigators the man threatened to harm her, posted invasive visual recordings of her on social media, placed a tracking device in her vehicle, and withdrew $1,300 from one of her financial accounts without her consent.

Investigators said the man also waited for the victim in a parking lot at Austin Bergstrom International Airport to return from a vacation, threatened to “finish” her, took a picture of her car parked in the driveway of her home, and posted a photo and video of her on her place of employment’s social media page.

Working on a tip, law officers located the man last weekend and took him into custody.
