ROUND ROCK —Thrall seniors Maverick McAllister and Hayden Heselmeyer were selected to compete in the Austin Area Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game, set for Sunday, June 8, at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

Both players have been key contributors in the Tigers’ postseason run to the Class 3A-Division II state championship. McAllister led the pitching staff, tossing a complete game in the state semifinal opener against Orange Grove and recording the final two outs in Game 3 to clinch the series.

Heselmeyer has paced the offense, leading the team in batting average and on-base percentage during the playoffs. He went 7-for-13 with three walks in the semifinal series.

The all-star game will feature top talent from across Central Texas, giving both players a chance to showcase their skills in front of fans and scouts.
