THRALL — The Thrall Tigers varsity baseball team received several all-state honors following a historic run to the Class 3A Division II state championship game, where they finished as state runners-up.
Senior utility player Maverick McAllister was named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team. Sophomore Gus Navejas and senior Nick Treuter were also recognized, earning spots on the University Interscholastic League State All-Tournament Team.
McAllister served as the Tigers’ ace throughout the season, delivering multiple complete- game performances during their playoff run. Navejas and Treuter each recorded a hit in the state title game, while Navejas drove in one of the team's two runs.
Thrall reached the state finals for the first time in 27 years. The Tigers defeated Elkhart in the bi-district round, West in the area round, Central Heights in the regional semifinals, Anderson-Shiro in the regional finals, and Orange Grove in the state semifinals before falling to Wall, 14-2, in the championship game.
