HUTTO — The Hutto High School varsity football team will add three new assistant coaches to its staff, first-year head coach Eli Reinhart announced via Twitter.
Shane Hodge joins the program as the new defensive backs and special teams coordinator. Hodge comes from Chapel Hill High School and brings experience both as a former college football player and as a defensive coordinator. He will look to improve a secondary that struggled to limit explosive plays last season.
Brad Campbell will take over as wide receivers coach. Campbell arrives from Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he served as an assistant quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator. A former Crusader football player himself, Campbell inherits a talented receiver group led by returning starter Jaiden Fields.
Hutto alumnus Caleb Forrest rounds out the June hires. Forrest, who played three seasons on varsity with the Hippos, will serve as the inside receivers coach as he begins his coaching career in his hometown.
Reinhart will lead this new-look staff as Hutto aims to return to the postseason for the first time in four years.
