The 2025 edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine has been released, offering predictions for every high school football program across the state — including those in Eastern Williamson County.

TAYLOR

The Taylor Ducks are predicted to finish second in District 13-4A Division I, just behind Austin LBJ.

Taylor officially finished the 2024 season with a 6-5 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in district play, after LBJ was stripped of its 11 wins and district championship due to residency violations.

The Ducks will look to reload this fall after graduating key offensive starters, including quarterback Eli Laurence, running back Andrias Fisher and wide receiver Damien Calico. However, they return several key pieces, including utility player Johnny Guzman, quarterback Caleb Pachicano and linebacker Stephen Rogers.

HUTTO

The Hutto Hippos are projected to finish third in District 25-5A, which would mark their first postseason appearance in four years. Hutto came up just short last year, finishing fifth — one game out of playoff contention.

Under first-year head coach Eli Reinhart, the Hippos return a strong offensive core featuring quarterback Kaden Stefek, running back Keilan Chavies and wide receiver Jaiden Fields.

THRALL

The Thrall Tigers are predicted to claim the fourth and final playoff spot in District 13-3A Division II. The Tigers finished 6-5 last season, going 1-3 in district play before falling to Tidehaven in the bi-district round.

This year, the Tigers will need to replace standout quarterback Chance Parker and top receiver Landon Gregory.

Returning contributors include Christopher Kelm and Jaden Spence.

SUBHED - Granger The Granger Lions are projected to win the District 13-2A Division II title after finishing second last season, just one game behind Somerville.

Granger made a deep playoff run in 2024, defeating La Pryor and La Villa before falling to Shiner in the regional semifinals.

The Lions return much of their roster, including top offensive leaders in running back Caleb Hobratsch and quarterback Wyatt Rochner.

Granger Lions quarterback Wyatt Rochner hands the ball off to running back Caleb Hobratsch during a regular season game last year.
