The Taylor community gathered for Duck Day, a celebration of school spirit, community pride and the upcoming athletic season. The event featured spirited performances from the Taylor Duck Band and Guard, cheer team and Hi-Steppers, with plenty of green and white on display.

Families and fans had the opportunity to meet Taylor High School student athletes from various sports. The Taylor Ducks varsity football team also took the field, holding a full-pads practice followed by a scrimmage for fans to enjoy.

The Ducks will continue practice this week before hosting a home scrimmage against Sealy on Friday, Aug. 9.

The Taylor volleyball team opened its season at home against Rockdale on Tuesday and will continue regular season play Aug. 14-16 at the Westwood Varsity Tournament.
