Ducks rally past Northeast in opener

AUSTIN — The Taylor High School boys varsity basketball team started off its 2023-24 season with a bang Friday, Nov. 17 as the Ducks went on the road and knocked off Austin Northeast Early College High School by a score of 68-55.

Under Head Coach Stephen Gibson, the Ducks had to rally from a second-half deficit and did so behind an explosive opener from senior Treos Richardson with a game-high 37 points on 14-of-29 shooting from the f loor, 16 rebounds, five blocked shots, four steals and four assists. Richardson also had multiple acrobatic dunks, including one in the fourth quarter when he attacked the basket and dunked over a Raiders defender to the delight of his teammates and Taylor fans who made the trip down to Austin.
