Ducks Have Major Questions at the Quarterback Position

The Taylor Ducks entered their season opener against Gatesville with uncertainty at quarterback. Senior Eli Laurence got the start but struggled, throwing three interceptions and failing to advance the ball downfield. This left the Ducks' offense one-dimensional, allowing Gatesville to focus on stopping the run. It will be interesting to see how Taylor's head coach, Flowers, adjusts as the Ducks head on the road to face Pflugerville Connally.

Hippos' Offense Will Be Just Fine

The Hippos entered the season needing to replace elite offensive players Will Hammond and Alex Green. However, on Friday, the Hutto offense appeared seamless, scoring 63 points in a 63-8 win over the San Marcos Rattlers. Junior quarterback Kaden Stefek and senior wide receiver Braeton Anderson led the charge, with Stefek accumulating 225 yards and five total touchdowns, while Anderson recorded 191 yards and three touchdowns.

Thrall Proves They Are Ready for 3A After an Impressive Showing Versus Thorndale

This season marks Thrall Tigers' debut in the 3A division after moving up from 2A. Fortunately for fans, Thrall still played its annual matchup against Thorndale. The Tigers delivered an impressive performance, winning 50-29 and demonstrating their readiness for the more competitive district. Senior quarterback Chance Parker led the Tigers with 196 passing yards and a touchdown.
