One of the highlights of Homecoming 2022 was the Taylor High School Mascot Reunion. Former Waddles and pre-Waddles mascots were invited to take a group photo at the ex-students program. The earliest mascot in attendance was Phil Pierce who served as Taylor’s mascot from 1936 – 1939, then as a senior Pierce went on to serve as team captain for the Ducks. Other mascots attending the reunion were Kimberly Hill, Kristine Sankey, Brittany Crayton, Lisa Buzan, Mandy Tennill, Stacyi Roznovak Burris and Brittani Barron. 10/08/2022 08:57 AM

During the month of October, there is plenty of family fun on Wednesday evenings in downtown Hutto. From 3 – 7 p.m. every Wednesday evening at 200 East St., the Hutto Farmers Market has free giveaways and activities in addition to fresh local produce, leafy greens, honey, jerky, lemonades, agua frescas, dog treats, coffee, gourmet cookies, bath bombs, and more available for sale through their local vendors. 10/08/2022 08:57 AM

Taylor to vote on $82.47 million bond
TAYLOR – With half of Taylor’s schools projected to be over capacity in 2026 and the fact that it takes three years to get a new school designed and built, Taylor ISD is on a tight deadline to get funding approved. Texas Critter Crusaders will be holding their second Annual Spay-ghetti Dinner & Dance on October 22nd at the Taylor SPJST, located at 5025 FM 619, from 5pm to 10pm. The evening will include “Yappy Hour”, a spaghetti meal and dance, as well as a bucket raffle. Tickets are on sale now through October 15th. $30 for adults, $15 for kids 12 and under or To-go plates, $20 for dance and raffle entry after 7pm. Toons hiding to be found
The Toon Squad scavenger hunt, a project started by local artist Dennis Levitin, is now underway. Levitin began the project last year painting cartoon characters on surfaces inside local businesses.
