MCT sets call for ‘whodunit’ masterpiece
Milam Community Theater will hold auditions Aug. 21-22 for Ken Ludwig’s new adaptation of the Agatha Christie masterpiece, “Murder on the Orient Express,” the final show of the 2022 season. Auditions will be at the Williams Event Center in Cameron at 7 p.m. both days. For audition forms, visit http://www.milamcommunitytheater. com. The story involves 10 passengers who board the famed Orient Express traveling from exotic Istanbul to the lights of Paris. When the train is unexpectedly stranded in mountain snowdrifts, only nine passengers are still alive. An American tycoon has been stabbed to death in his private compartment, and suddenly, every passenger is a suspect. Tensions rise as famed detective Hercule Poirot works to identify the killer before he or she can strike again.

Chamber to host advocacy summit
Adriana Cruz, the executive director of the Economic Development and Tourism office of Gov. Greg Abbott, will be the keynote speaker at the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce’s Pre-Legislative Summit on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Cruz is said to be the state’s leading authority on economic development will address the Summit over lunch. She will share insights from three years in that office as well as from her more than 20 years of leadership experience in economic development, marketing and international business with the group.

HUTTO – Matt Wojnowski, Hutto assistant city manager, has earned a prestigious designation that will further enhance his ability to lead Hutto staff and serve Hutto taxpayers. Wojnowski recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association.

Oh, it’s just Arthritis
Have you ever thought that you are suffering from arthritis, or do others tell you it’s just arthritis, that you’re getting old? Just because you are aging, it doesn’t mean you automatically come down with arthritis. There are many different types of joint pain that one can have that are not arthritis. However, if you are suffering from the common symptoms of arthritis such as chronic pain that seems to just continuously persist and exacerbates at times, swelling around your joints, joint redness, decreased range of motion, then it is possible that you may be suffering from arthritis.
