Crochet group donates items for Dec. 19 library raffle
Looking to support the Taylor Public Library and get in the running for some beautiful, hand-knit items at the same time? On November 15, the Taylor Public Library Hooks and Needles club presented the Friends of the Taylor Public Library with a handmade Afghan blanket and a crocheted unicorn. These items are to be raffled off in order to generate proceeds for the Friends of the Library organization, which supports children’s programming and other literacy initiatives at the library. 12/03/2022 08:01 AM

Without all of you, the Welfare Workers would not be moving forward gathering memorabilia to be placed in the Blackshear/O.L. Price School case at Taylor High. Again, we thank everyone including the Community of Taylor. Sincerely, The Welfare Workers Club Leslie Hill, President 12/03/2022 08:01 AM

To whom it may concern, This parade fiasco could have been easily avoided if Santa on the PRIDE float would have worn a simple pair of pants. When I lived in Bastrop, and people from a group in the parade were drunk, making inappropriate comments and generally displaying adult bad behavior, they were not allowed to participate the following year. Their bad behavior had consequences. This Taylor Parade thing is exactly the same. Santa wore a thong, not pants. 12/03/2022 08:01 AM

Dearest Taylor Press, Why are we sexualizing the Taylor Parade of Lights? Why does this have to be the rock PRIDE dies on? If you wanted your own parade, have your own parade. I heard, through the TAMA horses' mouths, that PRIDE never asked to be included, and therefore were never excluded from the Taylor Parade of Lights. 12/03/2022 08:01 AM

New school zone coming to FM 685
HUTTO – Drivers already bemoaning heavy traffic along FM 685 will soon face another slow down, but Hutto students will be safer with a new school zone being added in front of the high school. The new zone travels along the front of the school and restricts the speed to 35 mph when the flashing lights are operating, which is 15 mph below the posted speed limit on Chris Kelley Blvd. 12/03/2022 08:01 AM
